18 new galleries will take part in the 2013 edition of Asia Week New York, establishing a record of 44 international participants. For Henry Howard-Sneyd, president of Asia Week New York and Vice-Chairman of Asian art at Sotheby’s, this result confirms the importance of New York on the market of Asian art.

New galleries from Australia, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland and the United States will take part in the 2013 edition of Asia Week New York, to be held from 15 to 23 March 2013. Those 44 international exhibitors make the upcoming edition the most important since the creation of Asia Week five years ago. This equals a 25% increase with regard to previous editions. Asia Week New York well and truly became a major event for all collectors, seekers and curators of Asian art.

Asia Art Week is a collaboration between Asian art experts, auction houses, museums and galleries. Exhibitions as well as auctions are organised simultanously to this event. Everything is arranged in order to emphasise the value of Asian art and allow its discorvey by a broader public. Accompanying events will be organised as well.

The press release includes a list of new-comers with, notably, Asian Art Studio (American specialised in ancient art), Bachmann Eckenstein (Japanese art gallery from Switzerland), Lesley Kehoe Galleries (Japanese art gallery from the United States), Koo New York (Korean art gallery), etc.
