London, 2 November 2012

Through 10 November 2012, the yearly fair Asian Art is opening its 15th edition in the centre of London (Knightsbridge). This major event for the Asian antiques and fine arts world is gathering the major dealers for a ten-day exhibition in the British capital.
Alongside the fair, various activities are being organised: for instance Bonhams, Christie’s and Sotheby’s auction houses are proposing auctions and organising round-table conferences in order to advise better sellers and purchasers. Equally, the greatest museums and major institutions of London decided to present exhibitions and lectures about Asian art to enrich the event: the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, and the British Library, notably, are the most prestigious partners of Asian Art.
A selection of the finest pieces of ancient and contemporary Asian art is currently on show: pieces from India, Japan, the Himalaya and Korea, covering 5,000 years of history and a broad variety of mediums, including ceramics, furniture, glass work, jade, jewellery, manuscripts, paintings, textile, etc.
